Shire Grants
The Shire of Wyndham East Kimberley offers the community financial assistance through Quick Grants and Annual and Economic Development Grants.
Community Grants are typically used to help any not for profit community organisation meet their stated objectives. Some examples of previous successful Community Grants have included:
- Kununurra Visitor Centre - Regional Promotional Activites
- Wyndham Arts & Crafts - Annual Arts & Crafts Show
- Wyndham Golf Club - Inaugural Stars on the Bastion Event
Projects should be in keeping with Council’s strategic direction and philosophies noted in Council’s Strategic Plan.
Community Quick Grants – up to $500
The Shire’s quick grants programs provide financial and in-kind support to local organisations and for initiatives which benefit the local community. The Community Quick Grants program provides up to $500 per organisation. In 2009/2010 financial year, a total of $7,425 was made available to support a range of community groups such as:
- East Kimberley Cricket Association – New equipment
- East Kimberley Football League - Sponsor Board
- Kununurra Neighbourhood House – Repair of Mural Ramp
- Kununurra Dragon Boat Club Inc. – Ord River Dragon Boat Marathon

Annual Grants - $1,000 +
The purpose of an annual grant is to effectively and consistently deal with a variety of large requests for funding that Council receives. Based on assessment of the applications received, previoulsy funding was awarded to the following groups:

| Kununurra Croc's Swim Club | 2011 Lake Argyle Swim | $6465 |
| Kununurra Motorcross Club | Construction of Ablution Block | $7,700 |
| WA Police Legacy | 2011 Gibb River Road Mountain Bike Challenge | $2,000 |
| Kununurra Historical Society | Digitisation of photographic and other images of the Ord Valley from 1960-1965 | $13,300 |
Round Two of the 2011/12 Annual Community Grant opens August and will close 30 Sep 2011.
