An Easter message from the Shire President David Menzel

Easter is upon us and unfortunately we won’t be enjoying the usual camping and fishing long weekend that we’re used to in the Kimberley. In an effort to stop the spread of Coronavirus it is important to limit your travel over the long weekend and ensure you are continuing to practice social distancing.

I encourage the community to stay in contact with friends and family over the phone or by video conferencing, and to check in on each other more regularly than normal, as this pandemic will affect each person differently.

Most of all I would like to reiterate the importance of staying home; it is the one of the most effective ways in which we can stop the spread of this virus within our community.

We are managing well in these unprecedented times and appreciate the community’s support in allowing us to work quickly to ensure the least damage possible to our community.

Wishing you and your family all the very best for a safe and healthy Easter.
