Local Government election set for 16 October 2021

The Shire of Wyndham East Kimberley would like to advise that the next local government Ordinary Election will be held on 16 October 2021. Councillors are elected for terms of fours years within Western Australia.
Local Government Candidate
To be eligible to nominate as a candidate for local government elections, the candidate must be an elector of the district (residential or owner/occupier) and over 18 years of age. For more information on the requirements, please visit https://www.elections.wa.gov.au/.../local-government....
Owner/Occupier
If you own property but do not live in the Shire or operate a business in the Shire, you may be eligible to enrol on the owner/occupier roll. For information available at https://www.swek.wa.gov.au/.../local-government-elections...
Voting
To be eligible to vote in an upcoming election, individuals need to ensure they are on the electoral role. For local government elections, rolls close at 5 pm, 28 August 2021 (50 days prior to polling day). For more detailed information, please visit https://www.elections.wa.gov.au/elections/local.
