Proposed Local Planning Policy 16 – ‘Heritage Places’

Notice is hereby given that the Shire of Wyndham East Kimberley has prepared a new Local Planning Policy: Local Planning Policy 16 (LPP 16) – Heritage Places. The Policy provides information in relation to the assessment of development proposals which affect local heritage places and information to assist with the protection and conservation of local heritage places within the Shire.

Objectives:

  • Conserve and protect places of local heritage significance;
  • Ensure that development does not adversely affect the significance of local heritage places;
  • Ensure that heritage significance is given due weight in local planning decision making;
  • Provide certainty to landowners and community about the planning processes for heritage identification and protection; and
  • Clarify the format and content of accompanying matieral for development applications.

The proposed Policy may be viewed here or at the Shire’s Administration Office in Kununurra or Wyndham.
