No.1 - Community Engagement Policy Review (Closed)

The Shire of Wyndham East Kimberley would like to encourage residents who are living, working, studying or visiting our Shire to provide their feedback on our new ‘Community Engagement Policy’.

This policy outlines the Shire’s commitment and approaches to community engagement and will assist Council and Shire Officers in decision making. Policies are regularly reviewed to keep them current and ensure it supports the delivery of the Strategic Community Plan.

We are seeking input from the community on our new draft ‘Community Engagement Policy’ to gauge community support for the policy and to identify any gaps that may need to be further considered.

The new draft Community Engagement Policy will replace our existing Community Engagement Policy once adopted by Council.

What is Community Engagement?

Community engagement is asking people what they think about ideas, plans or proposals so they can contribute to and influence the decisions that affect them.

Why is your participation important?

We want to effectively engage with the community, as we believe those affected by a decision have the right to be involved in the decision-making process.
