Terms and Conditions

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. For the purposes of these Terms and Conditions, reference to a rates notice also includes reference to any rates final notice, interim rates notice, instalment reminder notice, and any other information pertaining to rates.

2. The ratepayer is the person who will be receiving the rates notice.

3. The Shire reserves the right to either accept or reject any request in its absolute discretion.

4. By completing this form you agree to receive your rates notice by email and understand that a paper document will no longer be issued.

5. Any Postal, Residential, or Email Address listed in this form will supersede all other addresses recorded in the Rates system only.

6. Following your registration, a confirmation email will be sent to your nominated email address.

7. By completing this form, you confirm that you are the registered owner, joint owner or agent of the property shown above, and all other joint owners consent to the redirection of rates notices to your nominated email address. (Note that, only one email address per property will be accepted.)

8. You must advise any other person who currently receives a paper rates notice for this property that they will no longer receive it as a result of your request. The Shire will not provide this notification.

9. All future rates notices will be sent in the form of a PDF attachment to the nominated email address.

10. If you own more than one property, you will be required to register separately for each property. You will receive separate email notifications for each property registered via email.

11. If you authorise an agent to act on your behalf, you must notify the Shire. In the event of changes or cancellations to authorised representatives, you must advise the Shire as soon as possible.

12. You must regularly check your nominated email address, including the junk mail folder for rates notices.

13. You agree that rates notices are deemed served when it reaches your internet service provider, regardless of if you have opened or read the email.

14. All owners will be responsible for any penalties resulting from late payment of rates notices delivered via email. A delay in viewing a rates notice via email will not be considered a valid reason for late payment.

15. You agree that you will retain the rates notice information yourself electronically or by printing it.

16. If you change your email address, you are required to re-register your new email address as soon as possible with the Shire.

17. Should the Shire receive an electronic 'delivery failure' notification from your nominated email address, your request for email delivery will be cancelled and a paper notice will be posted to the last advised postal address.

18. An ‘Out of office’ notification will not be considered an undeliverable rates notice.

19. The Shire retains the right to cancel the delivery of rates notices via email for any reason and at any time.

20. You can unregister from the email delivery of your rates notice at any time. To unregister please email rates@swek.wa.gov.au, including your full name, address of rated property, property assessment number, current registered email, and current postal address.

These Terms and Conditions are subject to change without notice.
