Wyndham Meet and Greet

The Wyndham Meet and Greet is an informal, open forum for the Wyndham community to come together and discuss matters that affect the town and surrounding area. It provides residents with the opportunity to raise local issues, share ideas, and ask questions in a relaxed setting.

These sessions allow for open and constructive conversation with Councillors and the Shire’s Executive Management Team, helping to strengthen communication and understanding between Council and the community.

The Wyndham Meet and Greet is held at the Wyndham Council Chambers and runs for one hour, commencing at 5.00pm. Please refer to the table above for upcoming meeting dates.

Public question time

Public Question Time is held early in each Council meeting and provides members of the public with the opportunity to ask questions of Council about matters affecting the Shire.

This session is strictly for questions only. Statements, commentary, debate or preambles are not permitted.

All questions must be submitted in writing prior to the commencement of the meeting using the Public Question Time Form. The form requires your name and contact details and is available:

  • online,

  • from the Shire administration office, or

  • at the sign-in desk before the meeting.

Questions submitted in advance and relating directly to items on the meeting agenda will be given priority. Other questions will be addressed as time permits.

Each person may ask a maximum of two questions, with each question not exceeding 150 words and a speaking time limit of two minutes per question. Questions with multiple parts are considered separate questions.

When called upon, questioners are required to stand at the lectern at the front of the public gallery, state their name and locality, and read their question aloud.

Where a question cannot be answered at the meeting, it may be taken on notice. A written response will be provided at a later date and included in the agenda and minutes of the next Ordinary Council Meeting.

Once a response has been provided, the matter is considered concluded. Discussion or debate with Councillors or officers during Public Question Time is not permitted.

Conduct During Meetings

Council meetings are conducted in an orderly and respectful manner to allow Council business to be carried out efficiently and fairly.

Members of the public must not interrupt, disturb or disrupt the meeting, including through disorderly behaviour, interjections or actions that interfere with proceedings.

If a person’s behaviour is considered disruptive, the Presiding Officer may direct that person to leave the Council Chambers or the Shire building for the remainder of the meeting.

Live Streaming

Council meetings are live streamed to improve access and transparency for the community.

To watch the live stream of an upcoming meeting, please visit the Shire’s YouTube channel. The live stream will commence at the scheduled meeting start time. Where available, recordings of meetings will remain accessible on the channel after the meeting concludes.
