The State Government’s $600 Household Electricity Credit will be applied by Synergy and Horizon Power this month.
The Electricity Credit was announced last month as part of the State’s COVID-19 Recovery Plan, providing $644 million of financial relief to 1.1 million WA households. Residents of caravan parks, retirement villages, buildings or communities by local mining companies will also be eligible for the credit.
The McGowan Government has also extended the ‘Electricity disconnection moratorium’ for households that are experiencing hardship.
Premier Mark McGowan said that credit could not have come at a better time.
“It is timely this credit comes out in the lead-up to Christmas,” said McGowan
“I encourage Western Australians to spend some of their savings on supporting our local retail and hospitality businesses, which have been hard hit by COVID-19”.
