Water Corporation to temporarily lower water levels in Lake Kununurra

Published on Friday, 15 January 2021 at 8:52:22 AM

Water Corporation wishes to advise that they will be lowering the level of Lake Kununurra between Friday 29 January to Friday 12 February 2021 (two weeks). The water levels are being reduced to complete essential works and reduce the impact on users as much as possible.
Boats and barges in Lake Kununurra, Packsaddle and Crossing Falls will need to be removed from the water, as securing them will not be sufficient. Boats in Lilly Creek Lagoon may remain in the lagoon provided they are properly secured, as once the water recedes they will sit on the river bed.
If you have pumping or other ancillary equipment in the vicinity of the Ord River, please consider the risks and preventative measures that may need to be taken.
Traffic management will be in place along Lakeview Drive from Monday 1 February to allow Water Corporation to complete work to the M1 Irrigation Channel offtake structure near the Pump House restaurant. Detours will be in place to allow continued access to properties along Lakeview Drive while works are underway.
