Closure of Certain Places of Business, Worship and Entertainment Directions (No2)

On 25 March 2020, Commissioner of Police and State Emergency Christopher John Dawson provided the Closure of Certain Places of Business, Worship and Entertainment Directions (No2).

These directions mean that each of the following business types must close until 13 April 2020, unless otherwise advised:

  • An Auction House
  • A Beauty Parlour or Salon (Excluding hair dressers and barbers)
  • Nail salon
  • Tattoo parlor
  • Spa
  • Massage parlor
  • Gaming or gambling venue
  • Adult entertainment premises
  • An amusement park or arcade
  • A play centre, whether indoors or outdoors
  • A community recreation or youth facility – other than to the extent that it stay open for the purpose of hosting essential voluntary or public services such as food banks or homeless services
  • A health club or fitness centre, including a centre offering yoga, barre or spin facilities
  • A sauna
  • A bathhouse
  • A wellness centre
  • A bootcamp
  • A swimming pool, whether indoors or outdoors
  • A gallery
  • A museum
  • An historic site
  • A library
  • A local government facility that is not essential to the continued functioning of the local government

 

The Shire acknowledges the Commissioner of Police decision to close the above businesses is disappointing to many residents, however public health must take precedence.
