At the Ordinary Council Meeting held on 14 December 2021, Council adopted the 2021-2026 Disability Access and Inclusion Plan (DAIP). Under the Disability Services Act 1993, it is a legislative requirement that the DAIP must be reviewed and actions updated at least every five years.
In June 2021, the Shire formed a Disability Access and Inclusion Committee (DAIC) with community members, disability service providers and families/carers of people with disabilities. DAIC met with Shire officers to review and update the document with an achievable range of actions. DAIC is set to continue to meet with Shire officers to implement the identified actions.
This DAIP document is open for public comment. To view the actions identified, visit https://www.swek.wa.gov.au/.../disability-access...
