As per the Emergency Management Act Section 72A, the East Kimberley Regional Airport Terminal wishes to advise that from 5 pm, 13 January 2021, it is mandatory to wear a mask upon entering the premises. The mandatory face mask is applicable across all domestic and international airport terminals across Australia. Federal Government has put this precaution in place to minimise the risk of the fast-spreading UK Coronavirus variant. Patrons must provide their own mask before entering the airport premises. A reminder that Individuals without a mask will be denied entry and may face fines of up to $50,000.
The following exemptions apply:
- Child under the age of 12;
- A person with a physical or mental illness condition or disability which makes wearing a mask unsuitable;
- A person that is communicating with a person who is deaf or hard of hearing and visibility of the mouth is essential for communication;
- A person that has been asked by Police, Security, Airport or Flight staff to ascertain identity; and
- A person who is consuming food, drink or medicine provided that they are
- seated at the time; and
- will resume wearing the mask as soon as practicable
If you no longer require the mask once you have exited the terminal, please dispose of the mask at marked bins provided at the terminal exits.
