What’s behind the glitter, glamor and fun? For us it’s an inclusive, safe and accepting community. Why the name KNQ? Kununurra is often abbreviated to KNX, we have replaced the X with a Q for queer. Queer being our agreed term to encompass a rainbow of human expressions and experiences. 
We promote kindness, inclusivity, acceptance and safe places for people to express themselves in ways that are meaningful for them. KNQ is integrated within the East Kimberley. KNQ pride events are 100% organized and funded within Kununurra and surrounds demonstrating the acceptance and support of community. In 2023 KNQ is in its fifth year of existence, this year we are hosting a quiz/trivia night, Drag story time at the local library, and a pride party. We are in discussions with headspace with the hope of co-creating a safe space for young people. We hold social gatherings and regular committee meetings that are welcoming and open to all.
