Vernon Lawrence is the Chief Executive Officer
Vernon is a Chartered Accountant by profession. He has a varied work experience that includes working in professional services for Deloittes in Taxation Services, working for the South African Revenue Services, being the managing director and shareholder of a privately owned business in the transport service industry and having local government experience. Vernon has extensive experience in financial management, long term financial planning and risk. He plans to ensure that the Shire is on a sound financial footing, has properly planned for the ongoing funding of the asset management plans and takes the opportunity to make use of information technology to improve effectiveness and efficiency of Shire processes.

Stuart Dyson

Stuart Dyson is the Director Infrastructure and is responsible for:
Over 30 years of senior management experience in construction, engineering and consultancy, including international having worked in Hong Kong, Singapore, Denmark, Copenhagen, Amsterdam and the United Kingdom. Senior Management experience has included roles as Divisional Director, Project Director, Director Indigenous Outcomes, Operations Manager, State Manager, Area Manager, Regional Manager and Regional Stakeholder Manager.
The last 5 years were spent with the Water Corporation based in Kununurra as their Regional Stakeholder Manager and is responsible for a revenue of $380m and an operations budget of $100m. Prior to the Water Corp he worked for Leighton’s Contractors on the Ord Irrigation Expansion Project for Phases 1 and 2. He has worked on a State Government Engagement Strategy and a Kimberley Strategy for Leighton’s. He has worked closely with all four of our Zone local governments and has extensive knowledge of the region and local issues. He also has significant networks and contacts throughout the State Government and within local government.
Stuart plans to ensure that all Shire assets have plans in place for whole of life costs and maintenance activities. In particular focus on town drainage issues and find a long term solution to protect property and resources.

Felicity Heading

Felicity is the Director Corporate Services and is responsible for:

Felicity has worked at the Shire for over ten years in a number of roles within the Finance Department including Rates, Coordinator Financial Operations and Manager Finance and Customer Services. She has a comprehensive knowledge of the Shire’s finances along with extensive local knowledge.
Felicity has lived in Kununurra for over 30 years and prior to working for the Shire managed family businesses incorporating various enterprises including tropical forestry, mangoes and agricultural contracting.
Felicity’s focus is on providing effective and efficient corporate support across the organisation with emphasis on ensuring the Shire’s long term financial sustainability, and on providing Customer Services that meet the expectations of the community.
