The Shires Baby Tree Program will celebrate babies born within the Shire of Wyndham East Kimberley on or after 1 January 2023. Each year a Boab tree is planted with a plaque including all of the registered babies’ names. As the babies grow so does their Boab tree and the plaque will serve as a reminder of where they were born, whether they stay in the Shire or leave.

If you are interested in having your child’s name listed on a plaque along with others from the year 2023, please fill out the form below. A copy will be sent to Officers and also to your nominated email.

You will be contacted regarding spelling confirmation by email so please ensure your contact details are correct. Participants will be invited to attend the annual Baby Tree Ceremonies held within Kununurra and Wyndham on Australia Day 26 Jan 2024.

NOTE: Completed registrations must be received on or before 5 January 2024. Please note incomplete or late registration will not be accepted
