Notice is hereby given that the local government of the Shire of Wyndham East Kimberley has prepared the above-mentioned planning scheme amendment for the purpose of incorporating provisions for Short-Term Rental Accommodation (STRA) within the Scheme Text to ensure regulatory alignment with state policies.
The proposed amendment to Local Planning Scheme No. 9 incorporates the mandatory and
additional updates to align with the recent Short-Term Rental Accommodation (STRA) planning reforms introduced by the State Government. These amendments are essential to ensure the local planning scheme is in compliance with the Planning and Development (Local Planning Schemes) Regulations 2015 and to provide clarity and consistency in the management of STRA land uses.
Documents setting out and explaining the scheme amendment are available for view at the following locations:

- A hardcopy of the documents are available for inspection at the Shire’s Administration Building – 115 Coolibah Drive, Kununurra during business hours, 8.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday.
Submissions on the planning scheme amendment may be lodged in writing and should include the amendment number, the name and address of the person making the submission, the property affected and details of the submission and be lodged with the undersigned on or before 4.00pm Monday 8 September 2025
