Shire urges the community to take the advice of the Federal Government and not gather in groups, if it is not necessary

As a local government, we are responsible for taking precautionary measures to minimise risks to health at public events and facilities in the face of this pandemic.

The Shire would like to urge the community to take the advice of the Federal Government and not gather in groups, if it is not necessary.

Because of this the Shire asks that you reconsider attending exercise classes, playground meet ups and any gathering where you will come into unnecessary contact with others.

At this time the Shire also asks that you do not use playground equipment (in all parks in Wyndham and Kununurra) or utilise the gym equipment installed in Celebrity Tree Park, to reduce the risk of spreading the Coronavirus.

The Shire acknowledges that limiting these activities can be difficult however, public health must take precedence.

The WA Department of Health and Premier and Cabinet has declared the HealthyWA website and State Government Coronavirus page as the single sources of truth as the situation with this pandemic is changing daily. It is important to not follow information from unofficial sources.
