The ANZAC #drivewayatdawn initiative was a success, with over 3500 viewers tuning in to the ANZAC dawn service via the Shire of Wyndham East Kimberley Facebook page.
The ANZAC Day initiative was driven by local RSL branches and the Shire encouraging members of the community to join in the live stream and take part in the ANZAC day service from their driveways.
"Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, ANZAC day was a little different this year," says the Shire President, Cr David Menzel.
"I am overwhelmed with pride that over 3500 viewers tuned in on Saturday. The pride I feel is equally for the unity and spirit of our community, along with the gratitude I have for Shire staff, the RSL branches and the local Post Offices who came together to deliver the Driveway At Dawn Initiative"
The Shire would like to acknowledge the local Post Offices for their assistance in distributing the candles to household PO Boxes.
