A special Council Meeting was held today to swear in the newly elected Councillors and elect a Shire President and Deputy Shire President.
The Shire would like to congratulate Cr David Menzel, Cr Anthony Chafer and Cr Narelle Brook on their re-election and welcome newly elected Council members Cr Chelsea NcNeil and Cr Dylan Hearty.
Cr David Menzel will reprise his role as Shire President and Cr Anthony Chafer as Deputy Shire President.
David Menzel said he is excited to continue his role as the Shire President.
“I had the honour of leading this Council, and I look forward to continuing on the direction we have been travelling over the last few years,” said Cr Menzel,
“We are starting to see a few things hit the ground, and I believe we have a lot of planning and preliminary work underway, and we will continue to push forward. I believe with the support of this Council, we can continue to provide some great results for our community.”
“I would like to thank the new Councillors, Cr Chelsea McNeil and Cr Dylan Hearty, for standing up and putting your time and effort into our community.”
“I would also like to acknowledge the outgoing Councillors, Debra Pearce and Grant Lodge. Thank you for your commitment to the Council and our community during your term.”
