Direct flights from Melbourne to Kununurra

On Saturday 25 May, at the Kimberley Moon Experience, Shire President David Menzel announced the commencement of direct flights between Melbourne and Kununurra, to begin in May 2020.

The trial air service with Alliance Airlines will include three flights per week, from May until August, in the Fokker 70 aircraft, carrying 80 passengers per flight.

Councillor David Menzel said, “The new air service will play a key role in attracting more tourists to the East Kimberley and driving economic growth to the region. It’s also expected to increase and create new business opportunities.”
