The Shire’s Municipal Heritage Inventory has been reviewed to prepare a draft Local Heritage Survey and Heritage List.
The Local Heritage Survey informs the Heritage List and identifies and records places that are, or might become, of cultural heritage significance, whilst the Heritage List comprises the most significant heritage places in the Shire and provides protection to these places through the Local Planning Scheme.
The draft Local Heritage Survey and draft Heritage List predominately contain properties already on the State Register and the current Municipal Heritage Inventory (MHI), however some new sites have been added.
A copy of the draft Local Heritage Survey, draft Heritage List and accompanying information sheet can be viewed at the Shire office in Kununurra and Wyndham or can be downloaded below:
Submissions may be made, in writing, to the Shire before close of business, 1 July 2022 and be either mailed to: PO Box 614, Kununurra WA 6743 or emailed: mail@swek.wa.gov.au
