The Shire has engaged the services of Heritage Consultant Laura Gray (Heritage Intelligence (WA)) to review the Shire’s Municipal Heritage Inventory and update the document to a Local Heritage Survey, and to prepare a Heritage List that supports the statutory planning framework. Additionally, a Local Planning Policy will be created to protect nominated heritage places within the Shire.
While the review will mainly focus on existing heritage sites within the Shire, the Shire welcomes suggestions of new places to be included in the Local Heritage Survey.
Laura will be visiting the Shire between 23-27 August 2021. During this time she will be visiting existing heritage sites within the immediate vicinity of Kununurra, Lake Argyle and Wyndham and attending the meet and greet session at the August Council meeting in Wyndham.
